ARTICLE 1 – PURPOSE
With a view to support creativity in the luxury sector - fashion & watchmaking, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA, an affiliate of Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S., is launching the second edition of Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives (the "Prize").
The purpose of the Prize is to honor the watchmaking art, worldwide and to promote independent watchmakers’ savoir-faire and creativity and provide assistance to such watchmakers for their entrepreneurial projects. After finalists are short-listed by a committee of experts composed of qualified and recognized figures in the watchmaking industry, the Prize will be awarded to a candidate selected by a designated jury appointed by the experts committee.
The goals of the Prize are philanthropic and artistic. Participants’ applications are reviewed by watchmaking professionals, on the basis, in particular, of qualitative criteria of design and esthetics, creativity and boldness, technical innovation, details and finishings, as well as complexity and complications. No registration fees are required to participate, nor is participation subject to any obligation to purchase.
ARTICLE 2 – ORGANIZER
The Prize is organized by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA, a company incorporated in Switzerland, having its registered office at 11, Rue Alphonse Large, 1217 Meyrin, Switzerland, registered under number CH-645-4097049-5 ("LFT" or the "Organizer").
The present terms and conditions of participation (the "Terms and Conditions") are available on the dedicated web site wwww.louisvuittonwatchprize.com (the "Website"). They may also be sent, at no charge, to anyone requesting them from the Organizer.
The Terms and conditions may be modified or amended from time to time by the Organizer without prior notice. The Organizer will inform the Candidates of any modification of the Terms and Conditions by publishing a new version on the Website. Any change to the Terms and Conditions will come into effect as soon as they are published online on the Website. Any Candidate who refuses the modification(s) to the Terms and Conditions must withdraw their application.
ARTICLE 3 – REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION
3.1** General considerations
Application shall be open to legal persons meeting the conditions set out in article 3.2 below (individually, a "Candidate”). Candidate’s application shall relate to a timepiece or horological construction (time object) with a clockwork mechanism (no quartz) designed and manufactured by one or more of its watchmakers (individually, a “Watchmaker”, and collectively the “Watchmakers”). Additionally, the Candidate can appoint a public representant, amongst the Watchmakers or not, who will represent the Candidate throughout the Prize.
A Candidate can only submit one (1) application.
3.2 Conditions related to the Candidate
A legal person is entitled to submit an application for the Prize when it has independently designed and created a timepiece or horological construction with a clockwork mechanism and has not already submitted to creation to a previous edition of the prize. The creation submitted should be a physical product.
The Candidate represents to be the owner of all intellectual property rights attached to the presented creation.
In addition, the Candidate shall meet all the criteria below:
- The Candidate is a registered company;
- Only creations manufactured and commercialized on or before 15st April 2025 are eligible for application;
- Each candidate may submit only one (1) creation/horological construction throughout the competition;
- Candidate shall be registered in a country or territory which is not subject to or target of any comprehensive or country-wide or territory-wide sanctions, embargoes or restrictive measures, enacted by the United States, the united nation security council, the European union and/or any European Union member state, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and/or any other relevant government authority (the “Sanctions”); and
- Candidate shall be in good standing throughout the duration of the Prize and shall not be the subject or target of any Sanctions.
3.3 Conditions related to the Watchmaker and the creation
There is no nationality requirement applicable to the Watchmaker(s) for participating in the Prize. The Watchmaker(s) shall be over the age of majority in the country in which the Candidate operates.
Artificial intelligence can be a source of inspiration, but Candidates are prohibited from:
- Using and/or inserting into any AI-driven tools, or in the Candidate’s creation, any rights of third parties and/or public personalities;
- Using and/or inserting into any AI-driven tools, or in the Candidate’s creation, any personal data or information, even if publicly available or pseudonymized.
Artificial intelligence cannot be used to create the timepiece nor generate graphic and visual renderings.
In this context, the creation must:
- be the original work of the Candidate and must not infringe on the rights of any third party (notably, but without limitation, their intellectual property rights);
- not contain any content that could be deemed offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate;
- not misappropriate, inaccurately represent, or caricature any cultural symbols, practices, religious beliefs, or communities.
Contravened usage and suspicious submitted material will be investigated and may lead to the disqualification of the Candidate.
ARTICLE 4 – CANDIDATE PARTICIPATION
To participate in the Prize, the Candidate must create a profile and fill out the application form available on the Website by submitting all necessary information. The Candidate may only submit one application per edition. Winners of a Prize edition should not be entitled to apply for the subsequent edition.
ARTICLE 5 – APPLICATION FORMS
The application form is accessible on the Website and requires the following information:
- information on the Candidate; particularly its registered office, the brand(s) under which it operates, number of employees, sales figures for the latest closed fiscal year, footprint (places of manufacture and points of sales), if applicable;
- information on the identity, education, and professional experience of the Watchmaker(s);
- one or more portrait(s) of the Watchmaker and, in the event of several watchmakers, a group picture;
- information on the creation of the Watchmaker, including (x) 3D plans, photos and videos of the prototype or manufactured piece; and (y) the verbal and figurative elements of any trademarks or other Intellectual property rights they may own or use. All technical information supporting the application including, if applicable, copy of any patent relating to the creation.
- information on past awards won by the Candidate and/or the Watchmaker(s), if applicable;
- copies of press articles on the Candidate and/or the Watchmaker(s), if applicable.
All elements listed in items (i) to (vi) will be made public if the Candidate is selected as Semi-finalist, Finalist or Winner (hereinafter referred to as the "Public Content")
The application form must be completed and submitted directly on the Website by 15th April, 2025 (23:59 Paris time) at the latest. When submitting their application, the Candidate must read and accept the Terms and Conditions when submitting their application.
Once the application is complete, the Organizer will send the Candidate an acknowledgment of receipt to the e-mail address indicated on the application form.
ARTICLE 6 – ORGANIZER REVIEW AND SHORTLISTING OF APPLICATIONS
The Organizer will review applications on the basis of these Terms and Conditions and study their admissibility and completeness. Any application that is incomplete, and/or inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions and/or submitted late and/or contains false or misleading information, will be deemed null and void, with the Organizer having no obligation to inform the concerned Candidate thereof nor detail the grounds for its decision, and without the concerned applicant being entitled to any indemnification. This is applicable at any stage of the process of the Prize.
Amongst admissible applications, the Organizer shall short list up to twenty (20) applications (individually, a “Semifinalist”, and collectively, the “Semifinalists”), based notably on the following qualitative criteria: design and esthetics, creativity and boldness, technical innovation, details and finishings, as well as complexity and complications of the timepiece or horological construction submitted by the Candidates. The list of shortlisted candidates, including the names and picture of their Watchmaker(s) (and, as the case may be, public representant) as well as picture of their timepiece or horological construction, may be made public, which the Candidate accepts. Candidate further represents and warrants that it has obtained all relevant consent from its Watchmaker(s) (and, as the case may be, public representant) pertaining to the same. In case the Organizer considers that some entries present the same quality level, a team composed of experienced members of the Organizer may choose the Semifinalists between the tied Candidates based on the above-mentioned qualitative criteria.
Semifinalists’ participation in the next steps of the Prize process is subject to the following conditions: each Semifinalist and (each of) its Watchmaker(s) must sign an affidavit provided by the Organizer which terms will be consistent with the models annexed as Appendix 1 and Appendix 1-bis** to these Terms and Conditions and shall comply with the commitments and guarantees set forth therein.
The Organizer will send the affidavit to be signed by each Semifinalist, to the e-mail address indicated at the time of registration on the Website Each Semifinalist must return the affidavit within a period of ten (10) calendar days from the date of receipt, failing which the Organizer may, at its sole discretion, decide to exclude the concerned Semifinalist, without the concerned Semifinalist being entitled to any compensation or indemnification. The Organizer shall then be free to choose another Semifinalist from the list of other shortlisted Candidate. In such a case, the new Semifinalist(s) shall submit a signed affidavit within the timeline set out by the Organizer.
ARTICLE 7 – SELECTION OF FINALISTS BY THE COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS
The shortlisted applications will be submitted to a committee composed of qualified and recognized figures in the watchmaking industry, selected by the Organizer (the "Committee of Experts").
The Organizer may decide to organize the presentation of creations of the shortlisted Candidates in a show room. In such case, shortlisted Candidates are expected to participate in the installation of their creations in the show room and represent that such undertaking have also been accepted by their Watchmaker(s) (and/or, as the case may be, public representant). The Organizer will cover the pre-approved, reasonable costs incurred by the Semi Finalists for transportation and lodging related to the show room, as well as costs associated with transporting the creations to be presented. These costs will be reimbursed upon presentation of the corresponding or borne directly by the Organizer.
Any costs relating to personal insurance, airport services, excess baggage charges, visa fees, and all other personal expenses (laundry, telephone, beverages, room service, tips, etc.) are borne by the Candidates. Candidates are also responsible for taking care of all administrative and health procedures (in particular of customs formalities) required, if any, for a stay in France or other location where audition could take place.
On the basis of their application and show room presentation, if any, members of the Committee of Experts will evaluate each Semifinalist with regards in particular to the following qualitative criteria: design and esthetics, creativity and boldness, technical innovation, details and finishings, as well as complexity and complications of the creation and/or horological construction submitted in their application. The grade awarded by the Committee of Experts would account for 100% of candidates’ final grade.
The five (5) Candidates who receive the highest grade will qualify as finalists (individually a "Finalist" and, jointly, the "Finalists").
The decision of the Committee of Experts is final. Its members' votes are confidential. In the event of a dispute on the result of the voting, or in the event of a tie, a team composed of experienced members of the Organizer may select the Finalists based on the above-mentioned qualitative criteria.
ARTICLE 8 – FINALISTS’ COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATION
Finalist participation in the next steps of the Prize process is further subject to Finalist providing all required additional documents, items, and information supporting its application deemed necessary by the Organizer.
To that end, the Organizer will send to each Finalist, to the e-mail address indicated at the time of registration on the Website, if applicable.
Each Finalist will have to provide this information within a period of ten (10) calendar days from the date of receipt, failing which the Organizer may, at its sole discretion, decide to exclude the defaulting Finalist, without any compensation or indemnification. The Organizer shall then be free to name a new Finalist from the other Semifinalist. In such a case, this new Finalist must submit the necessary documents, items, and supporting information, if applicable, within the timeline communicated by the Organizer.
The list of Finalists including the names and picture of their Watchmaker(s) (and, as the case may be, public representant), as well as picture of their timepiece or horological construction, may be made public in a press release issued by the Organizer, which will be made available on the Website and/or on the Louis Vuitton corporate website, and/or by any other means determined by the Organizer, which Candidate accepts. Candidate further represents and warrants that it has obtained all relevant consent from its Watchmaker(s) (and, as the case may be, public representant) pertaining to the same.
ARTICLE 9 – FINAL JURY SELECTION
Once completed and approved by the Organizer, Finalists’ applications shall be submitted to a jury composed of five (5) members appointed by the Committee of Experts (the "Jury"). A President of the Jury will be appointed by the Organizer amongst the members of the Jury.
The members of the Jury will select the Prize winner amongst the Finalists on the basis of the following qualitative criteria in particular: design and esthetics, creativity and boldness, technical innovation, details and finishings, as well as complexity and complications of the creation and/or horological construction submitted in the application for the Prize.
The winner of the Prize is hereafter referred to as the “Winner”.
Before making its decision, the Jury may interview every Finalist in France, or any other location determined by the Organizer.
If the interview does not take place in the city where a Finalist is located, the Organizer will cover the pre-approved, reasonable costs incurred by the Finalists for transportation and lodging, as well as costs associated with transporting the creations to be presented. These costs will be reimbursed upon presentation of the corresponding receipts or paid directly by the Organizer.
Each Finalist shall be represented by its public representant, who could be accompanied by the Candidate’s Watchmaker(s), subject to prior approval by the Organizer.
Any costs relating to personal insurance, airport services, excess baggage charges, visa fees, and all other personal expenses (laundry, telephone, beverages, room service, tips, etc.) of the Finalists and/or its representatives are borne by the Finalists. Finalists are also responsible for taking care of all administrative and health procedures (in particular of customs formalities) required, if any, for a stay of its(their) representative(s) in France or in any other location where audition could take place.
The Winner shall be selected by an absolute majority of the votes of the Jury. Each member of the Jury shall designate one winner out of the five finalists. Each member has one vote, with the President of the Jury holding a casting vote.
The decision of the Jury is final. No appeal shall be admitted. The Jury’s deliberations and the vote of its members will remain confidential.
The Jury is not required to select a Winner if the quality of the applications is not deemed to meet the relevant qualitative criteria.
ARTICLE 10 – ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NAME OF THE WINNER AND PRESENTATION OF THE LOUIS VUITTON WATCH PRIZE FOR INDEPENDENT CREATIVES.
The name of the Winner will be made public in a press release issued by the Organizer available on the Website and/or on the Louis Vuitton corporate website and social media and/or by any other means determined by the Organizer. In this context, the name, picture and general information of their Watchmaker(s) (and, as the case may be, public representant) as well as picture and general information of their timepiece or horological construction, may be made public, which the Candidate accepts. Candidate further represents and warrants that it has obtained all relevant consent from its Watchmaker(s) (and, as the case may be, public representant) pertaining to the same.
The Organizer reserves the right to inform the Winner personally, subject to the Winner undertaking to keep this information confidential until the official public announcement by the Organizer.
The Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives may, at the Organizer’s discretion, be presented to the Winner at a public ceremony arranged by the Organizer, during which the Winner’s creation may be presented. The Winner may be required to attend the ceremony.
ARTICLE 11 – THE LOUIS VUITTON WATCH PRIZE FOR INDEPENDENT CREATIVES
The Winner shall receive assistance from La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA in supporting and developing its creative work in the form of a personalized support, both technical and financial, for a period of twelve (12) months from the Prize award.
This assistance will consist of:
- financial support, in the amount of one hundred and fifty thousand euros (€150,000) or any equivalent in a currency agreeable to both the Organizer and the Winner, for developing the Prize Winner's projects; and
- individual support (communication, intellectual property protection advice, as well as advices related to marketing, industrial strategy, and financial management of a brand with representatives of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA during a twelve (12) month period starting from the official announcement of the Winner.
ARTICLE 12 – CALENDAR
The estimated calendar for the 2025-2026 edition of the Prize is as follows:
- Submission of the applications on the Website before 15st April 2025 (23.59 Paris time);
- Shortlisting of the Semifinalists Candidates by the Organizer in July 2025 ;
- Selection of the Finalists by the Committee of Experts in November 2025;
- Announcement by the Organizer of the Winner selected by the Jury and award of the Prize at the beginning of 2026.
These dates are indicative. They may be changed at the discretion of the Organizer if circumstances so require. The Organizer may also curtail, suspend, postpone, modify, or cancel the organization of the Prize without being held liable, and without any damages or lack of opportunity to the Candidates arising therefrom at any stage of the competition, including interviews as well as the selection of Semifinalists, Finalists and Winner.
ARTICLE 13 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
It is expressly agreed by the Candidate that the creation presented as part of the Prize application will be an integral part of the Public Content. Public Content may be used by the Organizer for purposes of presenting, announcing, and promoting the Prize, the Candidates (and, as the case may be, its Watchmakers and public representant) and their creations; including for purposes of Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S. and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA corporate communication.
Subject to the provisions related to public disclosure and Public Content, other Content ("Private Content") will not be published on the Website by the Organizer; it shall be used by the Organizer, the Committee of Experts, and the Jury only for the purpose of assessing the applications.
Public Content and Private Content are referred jointly to as "Content".
In the above context, and as detailed below, for the Private Content and the Public Content respectively, Candidates grant to the Organizer a perpetual, irrevocable, and non-exclusive license to all intellectual property rights related to the Content, specifically including but not limited to copyrights, registered and unregistered designs rights, registered and unregistered trademarks rights, patent rights as granted by the provisions of the law or regulatory provisions of all countries, as well as any current or future international conventions.
This license is granted worldwide, free of charge, and for the whole duration of intellectual property rights according to each country’s legislation, including any possible extensions of such rights.
Under this license, the Organizer is authorized to use:
- all or part of the Public Content, by any means, and as often as the Organizer deems necessary, for purposes of presenting, announcing, and promoting the Prize, the Candidates (and, as the case may be, their Watchmaker(s) and/or public representant), and their creations; this includes Louis Vuitton Malletier and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA corporate communications.
- all or part of the Private Content, by any means, and as often as the Organizer deems necessary, to be used by the Organizer, the Committee of Experts, and the Jury, for the purposes of assessing the applications.
The Organizer is thus authorized – but only in strict compliance with the aforementioned purposes:
- to reproduce or cause to be reproduced all or part of the Content; whether on a temporary or permanent basis, whether associated or not with any other elements of intellectual property of any kind, whether of the same or a different type (adapting rights included); using any and all methods, notably printing, drawing, engraving, lithography, photography, molding and/or all similar analogue means, and on any existing and future support and in particular papers, textiles, leathers, magnetic or numerical supports and/or analogue supports, and if relevant, associated with all technical protection measures and/or NFT certificate (non-fungible token);
- to show, or cause to be shown, the Content, whether associated or not with any other elements of intellectual property of any kind; whether of the same or a different type, as a whole or using excerpts, by presenting or announcing them to the public; and using any method of publication, dissemination, or broadcasting, known or unknown; using any methods, particularly any electronic communications network, especially the television broadcasts, public presentations or projections, billpostings, exhibitions, films, numerical or tape recordings, multi-media discs, the Internet (Intranet and social networks included), any digital applications and Metaverse.
- to (or cause to) adapt, transform, arrange, modify, add to, subtract from, or translate the elements of Intellectual Property, as the Organizer deems necessary, for the whole or partial use of the Content.
For the purposes of the Prize, all Candidates represent and warrant to the Organizer:
- that they hold all intellectual property rights and authorizations relating to the Content including the creations, allowing them to participate to the Prize, to upload the Content to the Website, and to grant the abovementioned license; and that, if applicable, they have been authorized by anyone who may have contributed to creating the Content to upload it or grant such license;
- that the Content including the creations does not infringe the rights of third parties, and that it is not the object of any claim or actions of infringement, invalidity, revocation, or recovery. The Candidates shall consequently indemnify and hold the Organizer and/or Louis Vuitton Malletier and/or any of its affiliated companies harmless against any claims, demands, causes of action, judgments, verifiable damages, losses, costs and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees and litigation costs) arising from any third party claims in connection with infringement of third parties intellectual property rights ; and
- that they are duly authorized by their Watchmakers to use and authorize the use of their Intellectual property rights (and, more generally, the Content), if such rights have not been assigned to the Candidate.
Candidates represent and warrant that Louis Vuitton Malletier and La Fabrique du temps Louis Vuitton SA may freely and peacefully use the Public Content and Private Content for the purposes defined above, respectively, for the Public Content and the Private Content.
ARTICLE 14 – PERSONALITY RIGHTS
The Content submitted by Candidates with their applications for the Prize may be protected by personality rights (such as, for example, pictures of the Candidates and Candidates’ Watchmaker(s) and/or the models in the photographs showing a Candidate's designs), to be known hereinafter as "Personality Features":
Candidate grants Louis Vuitton Malletier and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA, an irrevocable and non-exclusive authorization to use, reproduce, represent, and freely promote, in whole or in part, the Personality Features:
- that are part of the Public Content by any means, and as often as the Organizer deems necessary, for purposes of presenting, announcing, and promoting the Prize, the Candidates (and, as the case may be, their Watchmaker(s) and/or public representant), and their creations; this includes Louis Vuitton Malletier and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA corporate communications ;
- that are part of the Private Content, by any means, and as often as the Organizer deems necessary, to be used by the Organizer, the Committee of Experts, and the Jury for the purpose of assessing the applications.
This authorization is granted, free of charge, worldwide, for a period of fifteen (15) years.
This authorization applies to all rights related to Personality Features that may be recognized by the provisions of the laws or regulatory provisions of all countries, as well as current or future international conventions.
Candidates represent that they have obtained the necessary authorizations, in the context of this Prize registration, to grant to Louis Vuitton Malletier and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA the above-mentioned authorization and to use the Personality Features related to all third parties whose first or last names and/or pictures are sent by Candidates to the Organizer, including but not limited to the necessary authorizations for the rights to use pictures of the Watchmaker(s) or the models wearing the Candidates' creations.
Candidates represent and warrant that Louis Vuitton Malletier and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA may freely and peacefully use the Personality Features for the purposes defined above, respectively, for Personality Features included in the Public Content, and the Private Content.
Provision Applicable to Finalists
Candidates recognize and accept that, if they are selected as a Finalist or Winner, the above authorization will also apply to all photographs, images or animated picture sequences (video) showing their Watchmakers and/or, as the case may be, their public representant (thus being included under Personality Features) that may be taken and recorded during any event for presenting, announcing, or promoting the Prize, especially as part of producing any visual or audiovisual announcement in relation to the public introduction of the Finalists and/or the Winners.
ARTICLE 15 – CANDIDATE INDEPENDENCE AND CONFLICT OF INTERESTS
The Organizer will in no way interfere with the creative decisions of the Candidates, Finalists, or the Winners, nor in how they structure their work or manage their activities; no right over the Content will be transferred to Louis Vuitton Malletier or La Fabrique du temps Louis Vuitton SA, subject to the provisions of Articles 13 and 14 above. No employer employee relationship of any kind may be established between the Organizer and Candidates, Semi-Finalists, Finalists, Winner and/or their respective Watchmaker(s).
Under no circumstances, and by no means, Candidates, Semi-Finalists, Finalists or a Winner shall be considered as agents or associates of the Organizer, Louis Vuitton Malletier or any of their affiliates.
Participation in the Prize does not grant Candidates, Semi-Finalists, Finalists, or the Prize Winner any authority, title or right to present themselves as representatives of the Organizer, Louis Vuitton Malletier or any of its affiliated companies or to act in any way in the name of or on behalf of the Organizer, Louis Vuitton Malletier and/or any of their affiliated companies.
The Candidate undertakes not to behave (and undertakes that its Watchmaker(s) and/or, as the case may be, public representant will not behave) in any way, nor to make any statement or declaration that could reasonably be believed to be directly or indirectly detrimental to the Prize and/or the Candidates and/or to the image, prestige or reputation of the Organizer, Louis Vuitton Malletier and/or any of their affiliated companies (including their respective brands, products, directors and shareholders).
The Organizer reserves the right to exclude a Candidate or Finalist, or the Winner, in the event that these Terms and Conditions, or the Website Terms of Use are not complied with; or in the event of behavior that could harm the name and reputation of the Organizer, Louis Vuitton Malletier and/or any of their affiliates (including their respective brands, products, directors and shareholders).
ARTICLE 16 – LIABILITY
The Organizer shall not incur any liability in the event that force majeure, or unforeseen circumstances against its will, harm the organization and management of the Prize.
The Organizer may not be held liable for possible thefts, injuries or damages, direct or indirect, of any kind whatsoever, which the Semifinalists and Finalists may be subject to during their travels and stay for the purpose of the audition, in particular with respect to the creations to be presented to the Jury.
The Winner undertakes to pay any taxes, levies, social contribution, or any other possible fee of any kind whatsoever, that may be due by them pursuant to applicable laws as a result of the granting of the Prize. The Organizer shall be held harmless from any liability in such regard. In the event the payment of the Prize triggers any withholding tax, the amount of such withholding tax shall be deducted from the one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000) euros (or any equivalent in a currency agreeable to both the Organizer and the Winner) prize.
Any Candidate stands by all the commitments stipulated herein on behalf of its Watchmakers and, more generally all of its agents, representatives or employees.
ARTICLE 17 – SEVERABILITY
If one of the clauses in these Terms and Conditions is declared null or unenforceable, in whole or in part, by virtue of any provision of applicable law, such clause shall be considered void, and such nullity or unenforceability shall not affect the other clauses herein.
ARTICLE 18 – LANGUAGES
The application should preferably be completed in English but may also be completed in any language available on the Website. The Organizer will handle any translation necessary for the review of applications. In case of inconsistency between the English version of the Terms and Conditions and other available translations, the English version will prevail.
ARTICLE 19 – APPLICABLE LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
The present Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of Switzerland, Canton of Geneva.
Participation in the Prize implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions without reservation or restriction.
Any dispute between the Organizer and a Candidate in connection with the Prize, shall be, in the absence of any possibility of an amicable settlement between all concerned Parties, submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Geneva, Switzerland, an appeal to the Swiss Supreme Court in Lausanne being reserved.

- confirm that I am willing to apply for the 2025-2026 edition of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives (the "Prize") organized by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA, a company incorporated in Switzerland, having its registered office at 11, Rue Alphonse Large, 1217 Meyrin, Switzerland, registered under number CHE-111.650.616 ("LFT" or the "Organizer");
- confirm that I have knowledge of, and have accepted, the terms and conditions of participation in the Prize as they appear in the Prize terms and conditions on www.louisvuittonwatchprize.com (the "Website"),
- understand and agree that my personal data has been and will be processed for the purpose of the application to the Prize, in accordance with the Privacy Policy available on www.louisvuittonwatchprize.com,
- undertake, in all circumstances, to respect the name and reputation of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA, Louis Vuitton Malletier and/or their affiliates, as well as of their directors, administrators, or employees, and to refrain from any act that could harm them;
- certify that all information provided in my application is in all respect up to date and accurate;
- certify and attest that none of the Content, as defined by the Prize Terms and Conditions, harms the rights of third parties, including without limitation intellectual property rights and personality rights;
- certify and attest that I hold all intellectual property rights to this Content, or I have obtained the necessary authorizations to grant a license over and/or assign this Content, pursuant to the Prize terms and conditions;
- grant Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S and La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA a license to all the intellectual property rights to the Content, in the conditions set forth in Article 13 of the Prize terms and conditions;
- acknowledge that I may be required to present my application in situ to the jury in charge of selecting the Winner and shall cause my Watchmaker(s) (and/or, as the case may be, public representant) to attend such presentation;
- undertake to keep the strictest possible confidentiality regarding any information about the Organizer, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA, Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S. and/or their respective affiliates that I may have access to by participating in the Prize; especially as a consequence of the personal support afforded to me as Winner of the Prize.
In the event that I am awarded the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives:
- I undertake to be represented by my Watchmaker(s) (and/or, as the case may be, my public representant) at the ceremony that may be organized by the Organizer for presentation of the Prize, and, if requested by the Organizer, any other event whose purpose would be to present, announce, and promote the Prize;
- I undertake to dedicate the financial Prize of one hundred and fifty thousand (150,000) euros received as part of the Prize to the development of my watchmaking creative projects and to keep the Organizer informed of how I use this financial Prize as part of the personal support received as part of the Prize;
- I acknowledge that if I (or, as the case may be, my Watchmaker(s) and/or public representant) do not meet the commitments contained in this sworn statement and declaration, as well as the Prize terms and conditions and Website general terms of use, I may be deprived of the Prize without any right for compensation as a result thereof.
In order to select the applications and prepare the necessary documentation for the visual and/or audiovisual announcement that will accompany the public introduction of the Finalists and the Winner, the Organizer may decide to have an audiovisual and/or photographic news story produced about me and my Watchmaker(s), to which La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA and/or Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S. will hold the rights.
For this purpose, and pursuant to the terms and conditions, particularly those on personality rights:
- I authorize La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA and Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S., at no charge, to freely use, reproduce, represent, and promote, worldwide and at its sole convenience, by any means, particularly on its Internet sites, and on any communications media known or unknown at this time (particularly the audiovisual and/or photographic news story), any information concerning me or the Public Content under the conditions described in the Prize terms and conditions;
- I acknowledge that La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA and Louis Vuitton Malletier S.A.S. shall hold all rights to audiovisual and photographic works created for the purpose of the Prize and may use them as it deems necessary.
I further:
- agree that personal information regarding me may be collected and processed by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton SA under the provisions of the Privacy Policy available on www.louisvuittonwatchprize.com;
